Sinnamon Park is a suburb of Brisbane situated 14 kilometres southwest of the Brisbane CBD with the Brisbane River at its northern boundary. It has a population of 6, 362 as recorded by the 2011 Census. It is named after the first occupants of the area, the Sinnamon family. The current Sinnamon Village Retirement Complex and river flats at the eastern side of Centenery Freeway were formerly the family’s farm.
Some Heritage-listed sites in the suburb include Sinnamon Memorial Uniting Church and Sinnamon Farm both located along Seventeen Mile Rocks Road.
Being a mainly residential suburb, drainage blockage can be a problem with foreign objects or debris that can be gathered from restaurants or other shops and even from the household. Grease from commercial and even home kitchens is one of the major causes of blockage in the drainage system because once it builds up, it will only leave a small opening for the waste to pass through; though commercial kitchens usually have a grease trap which catches the grease before it reaches the sewers. These grease traps should be pumped out regularly to avoid grease build up.
Blocked drains can be very unpleasant especially at home because it prevents wastewater from leaving your household or property. If you’re having some trouble in flushing your toilet or if you see that water drains away slowly, this could be a sign of blockage in your pipelines.
