Drain Inspection

One of the main problems when it comes to dealing with blockages is finding the source of the problem. If you don’t, the problem will be a recurring one, and you’ll never have a clear drain.

We use a high-tech plumbing inspection camera to find the source of blocked pipes and drains. It’s because of this tech that we’re able to deal with drainage issues in Brisbane quickly and efficiently.

We don’t have to rely on guesswork to figure out where the problem originates. The camera allows us to pick up signs of damage and get things sorted out fast.

CCTV Drain Inspection

drain inspection cameraWondering how much a camera drain inspection costs? The answer will depend on your home. Let us come out and give you an accurate quote.

It’s a small price to pay for complete peace of mind. It allows you to be proactive with your drain plumbing. The footage will enable us to identify potential trouble spots as well as actual blocks.

That’s why we recommend that anyone from Ipswich to the Moreton Bay Area has a preventative inspection done at least once a year.

Not only does that ensure that you have clear drains, but it also means that you can stave off major plumbing emergencies. By dealing with trouble spots early on, you can reduce the strain on the rest of the system.

Think of it this way. The human cardiovascular system works a lot like plumbing does. When you have plaque building up in the veins and arteries, your body can still function.

Initially, you won’t notice that anything is wrong. All the while, though, like any cardio specialist in South Brisbane will tell you, the blocks are getting bigger.

This blockage means that the body cannot circulate the blood as effectively. The blood has to be pumped through a much smaller space. This blockage puts additional pressure on the walls of the veins and arteries.

Your body has to work harder to do the same job, and eventually, something has to give. We can say the same thing about your plumbing drains and pipes.

Partial blockages cause increased pressure on the system, making it more prone to a catastrophic failure. Backflow prevention and testing are also a part of the services we provide.

It doesn’t matter if you’re in Brisbane Southside, East Brisbane, North Brisbane or West Brisbane – we’re happy to help. Just call us, and we’ll be there with our drain inspection camera in a flash.

We can’t answer the question of how much a CCTV drain inspection costs until we evaluate the system. It’s pretty affordable, though, especially as a proactive measure.

How To Clean Drains

how to clean drainsThere are several ways to get a clear drain in Logan. Here are the steps to follow:

  • If the water is backing up in the house, try using a plunger first. The plunger must completely cover the plughole. Then pump up and down vigorously. This could dislodge the debris.
  • If that doesn’t work, empty as much water from the drain as possible.
  •  Try pouring boiling water down the drain. This is helpful if the blockage is caused by fat that has accumulated in the pipes. Give it a little time to allow it to work.
  • If it still isn’t clear, empty the water again and pour a half a cup of bicarb into the drain. Follow up with a cup of vinegar. Don’t be alarmed by the fizzing. Give it a little time to work.
  • Is it still not working? Now you can try a commercial drain cleaner. Follow the instructions to the letter. We’d recommend only performing this step once, as the acids can be corrosive.
  • If that doesn’t work, you can try to wind a plumbing snake along the pipes to clear debris. We can also use an electric eel to help unblock your drain.
  • If it’s still not clear, call us ASAP. We’ll be able to tell you exactly how much it will cost for a drain inspection when we get to your Redlands home.

What Is A Sewer Line Inspection?

If you think that a blocked drain in Brisbane is terrible, you haven’t seen anything yet. A blocked sewer line is a health hazard, and it can be very unpleasant. This is why ensuring that your sewage drainage is in working condition should always be a priority.

We’d recommend having us out once a year. We’ll bring our sewer inspection camera and check for any potential issues. Our plumbers are fully qualified and comply with all local laws and regulations.

Again, if you’re wondering how much a sewer line inspection costs, we can’t be specific until we’ve seen your home. The price depends on the size of the system overall.

How To Clear A Blocked Toilet

how to clear a blocked toiletIt’s the middle of the night in Redcliffe, and you’ve just gotten home from a night out with your mates. You flush the toilet, and it won’t clear. Before calling us out, here are some steps to try:

  • Pour hot water down the toilet. This solution is sometimes enough to help clear out blocks caused by toilet paper. Give it some time for the water to work its way through the system.
  • Don’t flush the toilet again. Instead, lift the lid of the cistern. Pull up the flapper valve. This will allow a little of the water to drain into the bowl. You’ll see if it drains without risking flooding the floor.
  • If that doesn’t work, try using a toilet plunger. Don’t push too hard with the first plunge. The air inside the bowl might force the water to spray out if you do.
  • Once you’ve made a seal with the plunger, you can start pumping it more energetically. Keep at it for around twenty tries. If it’s still not draining, move onto the next step.
  • We don’t recommend trying to scoop out the dirty water in the toilet. It’s not sanitary to do so.
  • If you have a plumbing snake, it’s a good idea to try to dislodge the obstruction using it.
  • You can also try a drain cleaner. If you have a septic tank, you should exercise a little more care. The chemicals in a drain cleaner might kill off the bacteria that digest the waste.
  • If that doesn’t work, give us a call.
