Fitzgibbon is a suburb north of the Brisbane central business district in Queensland, Australia. The suburb is one of the smallest suburbs in Brisbane and was named after Abram Fitzgibbon, who was the chief engineer of railways in Queensland during the 1860s.The suburb is shaped like an inverted triangle, and is bordered by the North Coast railway, the Cabbage Tree Creek, and the Telegraph Road. According to the 2011 Census, the population of the suburb is 3,288, 53.7% female and 46.3% male.
The region is a relatively new residential area, having been mostly subdivided in the 1980s and 1990s. As new houses and apartments rise in the area, residents continue to flock in the region. Blocked drains are a common occurrence and can cause inconveniences in the household. Choked or blocked drainage can occur when foreign objects such as hair clumps or soap scums, fats or food are collectively caught between the drain pipe and the ducts that flow underneath. It may not fully block the drain at first, but over time these will continue to amass which will prevent water from flowing effectively and could ultimately cause the drain to block. Bathrooms and toilets are regularly clogged due to too much toilet paper, sanitary items and even nappies being flushed down them. A blocked toilet is really unpleasant and requires immediate action.
