Macgregor is a residential suburb of the City of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia located 12 kilometres from the Brisbane Central Business District. The suburb’s name came from William MacGregor who was Queenslands governor from 1909 to 1914. According to the 2011 Australian Census, the area’s population is 5, 576 with a diverse multicultural community like the surrounding suburbs in the area.
The suburb has two public schools, namely, MacGregor State School which is a primary school and MacGregor State High School. The high school was established in 1969 with 9 teachers and a total of 203 students. In November 4, 1973, a tornado had struck the high school grounds leaving hundreds o thousands of dollars worth of damage and reconstructing most of the structures in the school. Today, the high school has around 1800 students while the primary school has 2000 students with 50 staff members.
Residential suburbs such as this with high traffic from schools are likely to develop drainage problems that are mostly caused by grease, hair, sand and silt, and other foreign objects or debris. Having blocked drains can be very unpleasant, preventing wastewater from leaving your household or property. If you’re having difficulty in flushing your toilet or if you see that water doesn’t drain away quickly, this could be a sign of clogged pipelines.
