Mount Gravatt East is a suburb in Brisbane located just 8 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane Central Business District. It has a population of 10, 891 as recorded by the 2011 Australian Census.
It was in 1840 that Mount Gravatt Hill was named after the commander of the Moreton Bay Settlement at that time, Lieutenant George Gravatt. The suburb was established in 1967.
Mount Gravatt East was once part of the greater Mount Gravatt suburb but later on separated into three different areas, the others namely: Upper Mount Gravatt and Mount Gravatt South which is now known as Wishart. Aside from Mount Gravatt Hill, the area has a number of other elevated land masses like Mount Thompson.
Since the suburb is home to a variety of hills where a lot of plant life and trees flourish, drainage blockage can be a problem due to large tree roots that can seriously damage pipelines underground. Tree roots are the number one cause of blockages and these can create cracks in your pipes resulting to blocked drains which can hugely affect daily tasks and routines at home.
Blockages in pipes can be really nasty, preventing wastewater from leaving your household or property. If you’re having difficulty in flushing your toilet or if you see that water drains away slowly, this could be a sign of blockage in your pipelines.
