Fairfield is a suburb of the City of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia which is located just 5 kilometres south of the Brisbane Central Business District. It is mainly a residential suburb with a population of 2,554 according to the 2011 Australian Census.
In the northern boundary of the suburb is the South Brisbane Cemetery, the Beenleigh railway line to the east, Venner Road to the south, and the Brisbane River to the west. Fairfield Gardens is the subub’s local shopping centre and it has many parks for the residents and also has a skate park which is frequented by the youth. Casa Del Cheese and The Hack Shack can be found in the suburb as well.
Being a mainly residential suburb with its own shopping centre and other public and commercial areas, drainage blockage can still be a problem with foreign objects or debris that can be gathered from restaurants or other shops and even from the household. Grease from commercial and even home kitchens is one of the major causes of blockage in the drainage system because once it builds up, it will only leave a small opening for the waste to pass through; though commercial kitchens usually have a grease trap which catches the grease before it reaches the sewers. These grease traps should be pumped out regularly to avoid grease build up.
Blocked drains can be very unpleasant especially at home because it prevents wastewater from leaving your household or property. If you’re having some trouble in flushing your toilet or if you see that water drains away slowly, this could be a sign of blockage in your pipelines.
