Karawatha is an outer suburb of the City of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia located 22 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane Central Business District. It is a sparsely populated area with a few structures with most of its territory covered by the Kawaratha Forest, which is an undeveloped park land. The 2011 Australian Census recorded a population of 34 in the suburb.
The Islamic College of Brisbane is situated in Kawaratha at the boundary of Logan City just beside the Kawaratha Forest.
Karawatha is located at the southern tip of Brisbane and is naturally abundant with trees and shrubs. Being a well-forested suburb, the area can be prone to drainage problems due to collapsed pipes because of large tree roots growing underground. Tree roots are the number one cause of blockages and these can create cracks in your pipes which can hugely affect daily tasks and routines at home.
Though the area has a very small population, its large bushland area can affect neighbouring residential suburbs especially with homes with earthenware pipes that can easily crack and cause severe drainage blockage.
These blocked drains can be very unpleasant, preventing wastewater from leaving your household or property. If you’re having difficulty in flushing your toilet or if you see that water doesn’t drain away quickly, this could be a sign of clogged pipelines.
